Pembroke Show 2012
Pembroke YFC show was my first show of 2012. I had picked out my show team prior to the show and started to feed them. In my show team I had an aged ewe, gimmer, shearling tup, ewe lamb and tup lamb. When we first got to the show the weather was terrible, it just kept on raining. They delayed the judging for 1 hour, and lucky enough the weather cleared up and it was a very nice and warm afternoon. Once the weather warmed up we set the pen up and took the sheep off the trailer to get them relaxed and ready for the showing. Once it was time for the showing I got very nervous as it was the first show of the season and it would be great to get off on a good start. So the first class of the day was the tup lamb class. I was up against good competition. In that class I was lucky enough to get 1st prize. Then in the ewe lamb class I gained a 2nd prize. Then in the ewe class I gained a 1st prize with my aged ewe MDY10-100. In the shearling tup class I got a 3rd prize. Then it was the overall group of 3, out of all of the breeds at the show I got a second prize. Then I was lucky enough to win the interbreed champion title with the aged ewe MDY10-100.
Fishguard Show 2012
Fishguard show was the second show of my season. The weather again was not very nice at all but it stayed dry in the morning for the showing. Again I took the same team out as Pembroke. Got a 1st aged ewe, 1st yearling tup, 2nd ewe lamb, 2nd tup lamb, 1st gimmer. Also then gained 1st prize group of 3 and the texel champion. Again this was another great show for me all around. This time I didn't gain anything in the interbreed, but a very good show all round.
Nevern Show 2012
Nevern show was the 3rd show of my showing season. At Nevern there was very good competition.Again I took the same team out. I got a 3rd with the yearling ewe. 3rd tup lamb, 2nd with the ewe lamb and a second with the shearling tup. The Brynmeini flock took out some outstanding sheep that day.
Martletwy Show 2012
Martletwy show was the final show of my 2012 showing season. I took the same team with me again to this show. I got a 1st with aged ewe, 2nd with gimmer(same class as the ewe), 1st prize pair of ewes,1st prize ewe lamb, 1st prize tup lamb, 3rd prize shearling tup. Then I went out to the young handlers and gained a 1st prize and a reserve champion for that. As this is only my second year showing I am over the moon with all the prizes that I have gained, was a great season. Hope to show again next year!.
